Llandegla Forest Hike

On Tuesday, we went on a hike in the Welsh hills. We started at One Planet Adventure, and then did the Moorland View Walk around Llangegla Forest. It was a tad hot, between starting out at 24c and 27c when we finished at the cafe for lunch.

When we were last there, a few years ago, the trees had covered more of the area, but as it's a working forest, the environment is in flux, as they're always cutting down and replanting trees, so there was less shade this time.

The walk starts uphill and continues uphill until nearly the half-way point, but at least then it's mostly downhill on the way back. We went via the reservoir, as it's always nice to look at water when it's hot! Took plenty of water, both plain and with electrolytes in, but we didn't get surnburnt, thanks to Factor 50+ suntan cream. Plus I had my hat on, and a scarf thingy round my neck to keep the sun off.

Went for lunch at the cafe in One Planet Adventure, the food is usually lovely in there. I went for lemonade and an ice cream. Not my usual lunch choice, but I was too hot to eat anything cooked. Plus I got a free second lemonade, as the lady draw a second one off the tap by mistake, so that was a nice bonus.

Here are a few photos from the walk. ⬇️

You can see how hot it was by my face in the cafe afterwards! Thankfully not sunburn, just heat!!!
